EQUIPMENT
  • Food Strainer
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Food Processor
  • Spatula
INGREDIENTS
  • 1 (15 ounce) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • ⅓ cup smooth tahini
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, more to taste
  • 1-2 medium cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 5 tablespoons water, or as needed to blend
  • paprika, red pepper flakes, or parsley, for garnish
  • (optional) warm pita bread and/or veggies, for serving
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Add tahini, 2-3 tablespoon cold water, olive oil, cumin, salt, garlic, and lemon juice to a food processor. Puree until smooth.
  2. Add in the chickpeas. Puree for 3-4 minutes, pausing halfway to scrape down the sides of the bowl, until the hummus is smooth. If it seems too thick, add in another tablespoon or two of water.
  3. Transfer to a serving plate, top with desired garnishes and serve with warm pita and veggies, as desired.
