Meet Shira: Taking Wholistic Wellness to Another Level
We sat down with Profile member Shira to hear why she is loving her Profile experience and how it has impacted her life. Shira leads a busy life and is always on the go. She is a wife, a mom of three, and works in the Jewish nonprofit world. Shira believes in a wholistic approach to wellness. She started focusing on her mental health a few years ago and has been attending fitness classes at Orangetheory for about three years.
Yet, she still had some weight she wanted to lose. After winning a raffle during an Orangetheory challenge, Shira became a Profile member in February 2021. Since then, she has lost 35 pounds and is striving to lose another 10 for what she is calling her ‘extra credit.’ Read how Profile has impacted Shira's life and watch a short clip from her interview where she speaks on how her health coach has helped her through this journey.

What made you decide to join Profile?
I do Orangetheory five to six times a week and that was how I was introduced to Profile. I think the two together are a great combo because you get the full-body workout and then the nutrients your body needs with Profile. I enjoy all the competitions and challenges Orangetheory offers and that was how I started Profile. I won a raffle as part of their transformation challenge. It included a bunch of Profile products and then I decided to sign up for it. And now here I am, 35 pounds down.
How has meeting with a Profile health coach helped you?
The coaching has definitely been one of the biggest things for me. When you do other programs and you’re on your own, it’s very easy to get complacent. Meeting with Taylor (her coach) every week has really pushed me. For example, I like my glass of wine at the end of the day. She understood that and helped me incorporate it into my plan. Now that I’m closer to reach my goal, she is challenging me to reconsider limiting my wine at the end of the day to once a week or socially. It’s nice to have someone in your corner who is challenging you and talking things through with you. She has helped me find some of my eating flaws like portion size, eating too fast, and not drinking enough water. Things I would have never recognized on my own.
Why do you think Profile has worked for you?
The consistency and the simplicity. As an on-the-go person, it’s nice to not have to think a great deal about what I’m going to eat. The plan is easy. I have my protein shakes, bars, and snacks. Every week, I roast some veggies to have with lean protein. Simplicity with my busy lifestyle is why it works for me.
What are your favorite Profile foods?
In the mornings, I love to mix the Vanilla Cake Batter protein shake with black chai tea. I brew the tea at home and chill it in the fridge for the week. The combination is better than an iced chai latte! My favorite bar is the Vanilla Caramel Bar, it is simple yet sweet. The new Sweet Jalapeno chips are my jam. Love those! The Pina Colada Shake is amazing because you feel you’re having a cocktail but getting your protein instead. But out of all of those, I look forward to my vanilla chai tea drink the most.
How has a focus on health affected your family?
Knowing who you are and being comfortable with who you are, no matter what weight that is, helps you become a better person and a better version of yourself. Because confidence becomes happiness in a way. It helps you be a better mother, a better partner, and a better everything. My kids see my going to the gym every day. We now go for runs with the dog. We ride bikes. I’ve taught them to eat the rainbow, so they understand it’s important to eat a variety of foods. But I think me losing the weight and showing them how important it is to prioritize YOU has influenced them in a positive way.
What would you say to someone considering joining Profile?
I’ve ordered several of the snack boxes for people to try. It’s worth trying. Because if you do enjoy it, I guarantee you are going to love it and you are going to succeed. Between the health coach, the food options, the support on the Facebook group, it’s hard not to succeed. Why not try something new. I’ve done other programs and haven’t been this fired up about them. My heart and soul are in this. I feel like I’m part of this bigger community and family with Profile.
