Profile Thanksgiving vs. Traditional Thanksgiving

Traditional Thanksgiving Meal: 4,500 Calories

A traditional Thanksgiving day meal can really pack a punch when it comes to the number of calories, fat, and carbohydrates it contains. Large portions of ham, turkey, stuffing, biscuits, pie, etc. add up quickly when we are not paying attention to what we are putting in our bodies.

According to the Calorie Control Council, the average American consumes more than 4,500 calories and 229 grams of fat during a typical Thanksgiving dinner with the turkey and all the trimmings.

We want members to enjoy their Thanksgiving feasts. While food is delicious, we must remember not to eat solely for pleasure. Food nourishes our bodies, and we must be smart about what and how much we are eating. Check out this alternate Profile approved Thanksgiving menu. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy!
